Dr. K. Vijaya Lakhsmi, Vice President of Development Alternatives, was presented the ‘National Award for Women’s Development through Application of Science and Technology’ 2007 by the President of India on 8 March, 2008.
The award, constituted by the Ministry of Science and Technology recognises her role in developing low cost and portable water testing kits and water filters for rural areas
