Dr. Atiq Rahman, Executive Director of Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies
(BCAS), received the 'Champions of the Earth 2008' the highest UN environmental award in Singapore on 22nd April, 2008. Dr. Atiq also a lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for the Asia Pacific region, received the award for his outstanding contribution to environmental conservation and sustainable development
